Jennie Stevens

MPP, St. Catharines

Stay in the loop

Jennie Stevens is the Member of Provincial Parliament for the City of St. Catharines, elected on June 7, 2018.  As the first woman to ever hold the seat, she is passionate about female empowerment, and advocates for equal representation.

With over 15 years of political experience, Jennie knows that the key to being a successful politician is listening to her constituents and making their concerns her top priority. As a lifelong resident of St. Catharines, and city councillor for Merritton Ward for 15 years, Jennie has the knowledge and experience to fight to make St. Catharines a more affordable, accessible, and sustainable place to live. Prior to her successful 2018 election, Jennie also served on the St. Catharines Budget Committee, the Merritton Athletic Association, and the board of the Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre.

In her role as an active MPP, she strongly advocates for affordable housing, tenant rights and mental health and addiction. As a member of the Official Opposition at Queens Park, Jennie is the Critic for Veterans, Legions and Military Affairs; a role that allows her to support and fight for Veteran rights across the province. Most recently, Jennie advocated for Veterans to receive free bus passes within the City of St. Catharines. Thanks to her advocacy and the support of City Council, the idea was implemented.
